  • Description: GDR, summer 1989: Dressmaker Adam and waitress Evelyn are a couple and plan to spend their holidays at Lake Balaton in Hungary. But when Evelyn catches Adam cheating on her, she quickly decides to instead travel to Hungary with her best friend Simone and her cousin from West-Germany. Adam follows her, meets Katja on the way and smuggles her across the border. After their arrival at the lake, they learn that Hungary has opened the border to Austria – while Evelyn sees this as a chance for a new life, Adam finds it hard to adjust to the idea of a sudden change.
